Emergency

WordPress emergency triage

Site down, hacked, or throwing a critical error? Start here. Tell us the symptom and we'll route it. Triage begins on submission, not the next business day.

Fix My Site

What are you seeing?

"My site is completely down"

White screen, 500 error, "There has been a critical error on this website." Usually a PHP fatal from a plugin, theme, or a failed update.

Site down or throwing errors →

"My site is hacked or defaced"

Spam content you didn't write, redirects to another domain, a browser or Google warning, pharma keywords in your search results.

Hacked WordPress site →

"My host suspended me"

Usually outbound spam from a compromised mailer, or a resource-limit breach from a runaway process.

Fix My Site

"I can't log in"

Locked out, admin account missing, or the login page redirects. Sometimes benign. Sometimes the first symptom of a compromise.

What triage actually means

We don't start fixing. We start containing.

01

Contain

Snapshot the current state before anything changes. If we skip this, we destroy the evidence and your rollback.

02

Identify

Find the actual cause, not the first symptom. A white screen has a dozen causes and they need different fixes.

03

Stabilize

Get you serving a working site, even if that's a temporary state.

04

Remediate

Remove the cause, close the entry point, patch what let it in.

05

Post-mortem

A written account of what happened, how it got in, and what would have prevented it. You get this whether or not you stay with us.

What we will not do

We won't restore a backup and call it fixed. If you were compromised, the backup is often compromised too, and the entry point is still open. Restoring without remediation is how sites get hit three times in a month.

Before you contact us — three things that help

Don't delete anything.

Not the suspicious file, not the unknown admin user. That's evidence.

Write down when it started

And what changed just before — an update, a new plugin, a new user, a bill you didn't pay.

Find your hosting login

If you can. Access is the bottleneck in the first hour.

Fix My Site

Include your URL, the symptom, and when it started. Triage begins on submission.

Only if you want a call back. We will not add it to any list.
Pick the closest. “I'm not sure” is a fine answer — a person routes it.
How urgent is this?
Site down, suspected hack and blocked checkout get priority review.
An update, a new plugin, a new user, a bill you didn't pay. Don't delete anything — that's evidence.
Do you have your hosting login?
Access is the bottleneck in the first hour. You will not be asked for it on this form.
Email updates (optional)

Do not send passwords through this form. Submissions are kept in our form log for 12 months and then deleted.

Once you're stable, the question becomes how to stop it recurring.
